1. About Ryan's Voice

Ryan's Voice is an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) app for people who cannot rely on speech alone. It provides phrase, symbol and text routes, text-to-speech, personal phrases and optional context-aware choices. This policy describes public version 3.1.0 (Build 253), verified on 12 September 2026.

2. Communication Processing

Ryan's Voice is designed so that ordinary communication processing does not send the following content to Rockshore:

• Microphone audio — used for on-device speech recognition. Ryan's Voice does not record or upload the audio to Rockshore.
• Live transcription — used on the device to interpret nearby speech and support the current interaction. It is not sent to Rockshore.
• Phrase choices — local language and ranking components present choices on the device. The person decides what, if anything, is spoken.

3. What Is Stored On Your Device

To make the app work and personalise it, some data is stored locally on your iPad or iPhone. It is not sent to Rockshore during ordinary use. A copy can leave the device only through a sharing or export action you deliberately initiate.

• Phrase library — all default phrases plus any custom phrases you save.
• Usage and conversation context — local signals used to support relevance and personalisation.
• Personal vocabulary pack — words and terms you confirm during the staging-and-promotion review flow accumulate in your personal pack on your device.
• App settings — your preferred voice, speech rate, theme, and other preferences.
• Optional session log — where available and deliberately enabled, the app can record phrase use for later review. The log is stored locally until the person chooses to export it, and can be disabled, viewed or deleted in Settings.

4. On-Device Processing

The following current features are designed to perform their communication processing on the device:

• Microphone — listens to ambient conversation to suggest relevant phrases. Audio is processed in real-time and immediately discarded.
• Speech Recognition — Apple's Speech framework converts nearby speech to text on supported devices for phrase matching and context detection.
• Text-to-Speech — AVSpeechSynthesizer speaks phrases aloud using on-device voices.
• Language and ranking — Apple platform components and Ryan's Voice logic support relevant phrase choices on the device.

5. Purchases and Subscriptions

Ryan's Voice offers optional Smart Voice in-app purchases: a one-time lifetime unlock and monthly access. Purchases are managed entirely through Apple's App Store. Rockshore Technologies does not process or have access to payment information.

6. Analytics, Purchases and Apple Services

Ryan's Voice does not include third-party advertising or marketing analytics SDKs. We do not use:

• Google Analytics, Firebase, or any analytics SDK
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
• User tracking or fingerprinting
• Independent crash-reporting SDKs embedded by Rockshore

Apple processes App Store downloads, purchases, subscriptions and any device diagnostics you choose to share under Apple's own terms and settings. Rockshore may receive aggregated or privacy-thresholded App Store and diagnostic reports without receiving the content of your communications.

7. Data Retention

• On-device data (phrases, conversation memory, personal vocabulary pack, settings) persists until you delete the app or clear data manually.
• Local usage and conversation-context data follows the retention behaviour of the installed release and can be removed by clearing app data or deleting the app.
• Optional session-log entries persist locally until you clear them or delete the app. Exporting or sharing a report sends the selected copy to the destination you choose.

8. Children's Privacy

Ryan's Voice is an assistive communication tool and does not require a Rockshore account. Ordinary communication content is not sent to Rockshore. Local data remains under the control of the person and the device account, unless they deliberately export or share selected information.

9. Your Rights

For information stored by Ryan's Voice on your device:

• Access: Communication content and settings used during ordinary app operation are stored locally and can be accessed through the controls available in the installed release.
• Deletion: Delete the app to remove all local data. Disable or clear the SLP session log in Settings → Privacy.
• Portability: Where an export control is available, review the contents before sharing it with a destination you choose.

10. This Website

The app and website are separate systems. The website receives information you deliberately submit and standard hosting data:

• Feedback form — if you submit the feedback form, we receive exactly what you type (your role, your comments, and your email if you choose to leave one). Netlify processes the submission as our website provider. We use it to improve Ryan's Voice and to reply when requested; we do not sell it or use it for third-party advertising.
• Waitlist, demo follow-up and updates — if you join a waitlist or use the optional form after the Ryan's Voice practice demo, the details you submit are handled through Netlify Forms and used only for the update or feedback invitation choices you select. The demo form asks for an email address, an optional role, and separate consent choices. It does not collect what you practised, conversation content or health information. You can ask us to remove your details or change your choices at any time.
• Hosting and aggregate traffic data — our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps server data for security, reliability and aggregate site measurement. We do not place advertising trackers or cross-site marketing cookies on this website.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
