1. About Ryan's Voice

Ryan's Voice is an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) app designed for individuals with apraxia of speech. It provides text-to-speech, phrase management, conversation listening, and AI-powered phrase suggestions to enable real-time communication.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Ryan's Voice is built with a privacy-first architecture. The following data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to any server:

• Microphone audio — used for on-device speech recognition only. Audio is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• Speech recognition transcripts — processed in real-time on-device using Apple's Speech framework. Transcripts are held in memory only and cleared each session.
• AI phrase suggestions — generated by Apple's on-device Foundation Models. No data is sent to any cloud AI service.
• Conversation memory — phrase usage patterns are stored locally on your device to improve suggestions over time.
• Phrase library — all custom and default phrases are stored locally on your device.

3. Information Processed On-Device

The following features use device hardware but do not transmit any data:

• Microphone — listens to ambient conversation to suggest relevant phrases. Audio is processed in real-time and immediately discarded.
• Speech Recognition — Apple's SFSpeechRecognizer converts speech to text on-device for phrase matching and topic detection.
• Text-to-Speech — AVSpeechSynthesizer speaks phrases aloud using on-device voices.
• Semantic Embeddings — Apple's NLEmbedding computes phrase similarity on-device for intelligent suggestions.

4. Family Sync (Optional)

If you enable the optional Family Sync feature, the following data is shared via Apple's iCloud (CloudKit):

• Phrase usage events (which phrases were tapped, not conversation audio)
• Device names of connected family members

This data is:

• Encrypted using AES-GCM before upload
• Stored in your private iCloud container — only devices you explicitly invite can access it
• Managed by Apple's CloudKit infrastructure under Apple's Privacy Policy
• Never accessed by Rockshore Technologies

5. Subscriptions

Ryan's Voice offers optional in-app subscriptions (Smart Voice, Author Voice) managed entirely through Apple's App Store. Rockshore Technologies does not process or have access to any payment information. All billing is handled by Apple under their terms of service.

6. Analytics and Tracking

Ryan's Voice does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks. We do not use:

• Google Analytics, Firebase, or any analytics SDK
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
• User tracking or fingerprinting
• Crash reporting services that transmit data externally

7. Data Retention

• On-device data (phrases, conversation memory, settings) persists until you delete the app or clear data manually.
• Conversation memory entries expire automatically after 30 days.
• Family Sync data is stored in your iCloud account and can be deleted by disabling Family Sync or removing the app.

8. Children's Privacy

Ryan's Voice does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed as an assistive communication tool and does not require account creation or personal data entry.

9. Your Rights

Since Ryan's Voice stores all data locally on your device:

• Access: All your data is on your device — you have full access at all times.
• Deletion: Delete the app to remove all local data. Disable Family Sync to stop iCloud sharing.
• Portability: Your data is stored in standard formats on your device.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
